The subject matter I like the most

Is difficult to me establish a favorite subject in the university, all the subjects like me, but how I have to choose one, I choose mechanics.

This subject have like purpose that the student learn like the physics in a microscopic scale determines the macroscopic properties of matter. The students apply the scientific method in the context of the newtonian mechanics, being able to interpret the data through inductive reasoning.

Class sessions are theoretical and practical, where the theoretical basis is applied to situations related to the microscopic level. To do this, the teacher applies a technological tools. About the laboratory strategy, concepts are applied identified in the theoretical classes, group work is developed that give way to the discussion and then be able to interpret the data.

Studying the parabolic movement

Studying the Conservation of linear momentum

In class obviously I put my attention to the professor I think that the professor is awesome, he has a strange sense of humor but is cool anyway. Mr Bustamante it's like a serious person, by outside, but I think that he's not truly serious. Mechanics wouldn't be my favorite subject without Sergio Bustamante.

My classes are mostly theoretical, but I have a practical part too, in the mechanics lab I study the behavior of different experiments in the real life, the theoretical part is studied in ideal conditions, but in the lab there's not ideal conditions, so the data of the experiments never is equal to the theory.

For all this things this subject is so interesting to me, mechanics makes me be autocritical and I love it.

Claudio Hetz

A person that I admire in my field is Claudio Hetz F.

He's a biotechnology engineer of University of Chile, when he was 24 traveled to Suiza to continue his studies(PhD. in biomedical sciences), and then he went to Harvard to perform his postdoctoral studies.

Also He's a:
-Full professor in the University of Chile
-Adjunct professor of Harvard school of public health
-Adjunt professor Buck institute for research on Aging
-Deputy director neuroscience biomedical institute (BNI), faculty of medicine, University of Chile
-Associate investigator FONDAP center for geroscience, Brain health and metabolism, Santiago, Chile
-Director neurounion biomedical foundation

Nowadays he's a researcher, his work is mainly the disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), parkinson and alzheimer.
His work has attracted attention in other countries because his paper publication rate is 15-20 by year, and not in any magazine, but in other like Science or Nature. This allowed him to obtain financing of different sources like the foundation of Michael J. Fox., ALS therapy Alliance, Alzheimer asociation and others more.

I Admire him for his work, his dedication to the research and mainly for its success.
I'd love work with he, in his laboratory, also I love him line reseach so it's perfect.

Love, José
